Barbara la Grand met the ICSS team at Aids Fonds in 2009 when ICSS was on the point of going independent. She started to work for ICSS in April 2010. Barbara supports the team with secretariat, logistics and financial administration.
Barbara obtained her degree in Communication & Design Management in 2000 and has several years of work experience in the event industry and in marketing at various publishing firms.
After many travels through Asia and the Pacific, she moved to Australia in 2006 and spent three years abroad. She temporarily worked as an Administration Assistant at the Curtin University in Perth, while she and her husband set up their own Lunch Café. She moved back to the Netherlands in 2009.
“While travelling the world I have seen many different ways of life in sometimes hard and difficult circumstances. Being born in a wealthy country is a privilege. And to me it comes with the obligation to help others. I am happy I can contribute in this way by supporting the team at ICSS so they can focus on the great work that they do.”
