Investment Framework Civil Society Consultations 2012

International Civil Society Support (ICSS) convened consultations with civil society on the “Investment Framework” in Thailand and Tanzania in 2012, in collaboration with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). The Bangkok consultation was also supported by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, the Asia Pacific Council of AIDS Service Organisations (APCASO) and the Asia Pacific Network of People Living with HIV (APN+).

In the June 2011 The Lancet article “Towards an improved investment approach for an effective response to HIV/AIDS”, the model proposed in the piece (commonly referred to as the Investment Framework), has been recognized as a potentially ground-breaking reconceptualization of how HIV-related investments are allocated. Interest was especially great in the civil society sector, largely because community mobilization is prioritized by the Investment Framework as a crucial component of any response to HIV.
